I took my family here while in Atlanta this summer (2004) upon the recommendation of my mom & dad who love Cuban food. The empanadas were great (kids fought over them). The croquetos were a little more subtle in flavor & less popular. The Argentinian-style steak was OUTSTANDING! (not on the www.cocolocoatlanta.com menu). The Chilindron de pollo (sauteed chicken, olives, onions, bell pepper, raisins in Creole sauce) is excellent if you like olives. We also had the Ropa Vieja (flank steak), and Vaca Frita (beef). Get plantains and yuca if you're adventurous (you'll love 'em or hate 'em)...the moros (rice/black beans) is a safe choice). For dessert, my dad likes the flan and guava shells, but we had key lime pie (which was authentic). End the meal with Cuban coffee (espresso), but ask them to sweeten it when they make it...Cubans like REALLY sweet coffee, so the sugar and caffiene will help you overcome the urge to take a nap because you're so full, fat, & happy!!
